Houston Ultimate Community

The Houston Ultimate Community is excited to introduce 2013 High School Summer League. This league is designed to promote and encourage youth ultimate in Houston and the surrounding areas. High School Summer League is open to all player 19 years of age and younger.

The league will be held at George Bush Park Saturday mornings from 10AM-1PM.This will be a 7 week league starting Saturday, Jul 13, 2013 and ending Saturday, Aug 24, 2013. Registration will end Monday, July 8th at midnight.

The Texas Beach Ultimate Fest (TBUF), is back for another great year. Come join us at Galveston’s RA Apffel Park (East Beach) on Saturday, June 15th for the longest running beach tournament in the WORLD. There is something for every skill level from beginners to elite ultimate players.

A TD has been murdered! Every week the winning teams will be given clues about who killed the TD, with what weapon, and where the TD was murdered. So break out your deerstalker and pipe and get ready to play some ultimate!

The Houston Ultimate Community guiding principles are that every player has a fun, inclusive, educational, and spirited experience with Ultimate Frisbee.

The Houston Summer League is a competitive coed league that offers up to 16+ competitive games plus end of season tournament.

All skill levels and ages between 15-55+ are welcome!

Space City Ultimate is hosting an introductory league, the Competitive Ultimate Academy, every Tuesday 7p-10pm starting April 9th through April 30th.

Players of all skill levels are encouraged to attend this event and the league is FREE for new members. No need to bring a full team, you will be placed onto a team on-site. New to the sport? No problem. We will teach you the rules and fundamentals and get to playing.

Schedule:
7-7:30pm	Warm up, introductions, split up into teams of 7-8 players
7:30-8pm	Athletic testing (40 yard dash, Vertical, etc.) & Throwing clinic
8pm-9:30pm	4 v 4 games
9:30pm-10pm	Throwing clinics, Q&A, Cooldown, etc.

Houston is proud to announce that we will be hosting this year's Texas High School State Championship. Please join us the weekend of May 11th and 12th as 20+ Texas high school teams gather to compete in the championships.
Games will be played at The Farm League fields in Klein, TX.

Houston Women's Club Ultimate Team, Inferno, will be holding 2 try-outs for the 2013 season:
When: Saturday, May 11th & Saturday, May 18th, 9:00am -12:00pm
Where: HASP (Houston Amateur Sports Park)

HFL is a Coed Hat Tournament held in honor of a former teammate and friend to Houston Ultimate, Laura Powell Higgins. Laura was a prominent ultimate player who gave much to the growth of the sport in Houston and Texas. In December of 2002, she was murdered leaving behind her husband and daughter. Since then, every HFL has been in her honor.

We are pleased that proceeds this year will benefit The Boys and Girls Harbor of La Porte.

It's that time of year where many of us are traveling to spend time with our families and/or enjoying an extra portion of pie, cookies and (mmmmmm) peppermint bark.

Enough folks are traveling that we've called off winter league for this Saturday, but we still have a reservation for the fields.

Have you spent a little too much time surrounded by family? Have you had a little too much pie? Come on out to George Bush Park this Saturday between 10 and 1, get outside for awhile and play some ultimate.
