Houston Ultimate Community

in seeing a few pre-summer hat emails (but not not reading all, sorry no time), i wanted to post a thought to the community at large. the topic of female participation is fantastic and you certainly should speak up if you aren't happy.

but if you want something done and you want something to improve then do it. organize a league, organize a tourney, find a field site, run it how you think it should be done. be the change. its mostly the same 7 - 10 people running all current houston ultimate events that ran hou events 5 years ago. and the last huc hall had those same 7 - 10 people there and, except for evan's mom who wanted to run a summer league, there were no new faces. many huc leadership positions went unfilled or uncontested.

in ultimate when you wait on someone else to make the cut or get the d then you invariably turn it over or get scored on. don't wait for someone else to make the play.
