This Saturday

(Sorry if this goes out multiple times)
Hey Team 5!

To echo Jeff's email, welcome to HUC's 2009/2010 winter league! we've got a great team and Jeff and I are looking forward to this season full of plastic chasing and charity driving.

Please reply to this message to confirm you'll be at the games this Saturday. Right now i only know of Jeff and Meg that will be out.

We have two games, 1 at 10am and 1 at 11:30am. We play team 8 first (Sean and Katey's team), then team 6 (Dave Edwards' team). This will be a great first day of play.

I will be at the fields at 9am running an abbreviated beginners' clinic - please come, pick up your player packet, pay :), and show your support for the newer folks to this league.

I believe our theme this year is the Chinese Zodiac, which makes us the DRAGON (my very own sign, how cool is that). so bring your fi-ah powah and deep breaths.

let me know if you have any questions or if you'd be able to help at the clinic.
see you on the field,
Mary

Hey guys- I will be there!

Saturday

I think we played great and I had a lot of fun. I do think our short numbers ended up hurting us in the second half. They put a fresh line out everytime where we had only 2-3 subs.
Scores don't matter as much to me as playing well and I think for the most part we played really well.

Pope John Paul II will be

Pope John Paul II will be declared “venerable” on Saturday, December 19, according to an Italian magazine story. The report—which appears likely to be accurate—would mean that prescription drugs the late Pontiff could be beatified as soon as the Vatican approves a miracle attributed to his influence.

According to the Italian magazine Panorama, at a consistory on December 19, Pope Benedict XVI will approve a series of decrees prepared by the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, including one that attests to the “heroic virtue” of Pope John Paul II. Such a finding would give the late Pontiff the title “venerable,” and the subsequent approval of a miracle would fulfill the only remaining requirement for his beatification.

Several miracles attributed to the intercession of the Polish Pontiff are already under investigation, and Vatican officials feel confident that one will soon be approved. Panorama suggested that tentative plans are already been discussed for the beatification of John Paul II in October 2010.

The Vatican has not commented on the Panorama report—and is unlikely to make any public comment prior to an an official announcement. However, the report is plausible for several reasons.

The Congregation for the Causes of Saints typically prepares a series of decrees in December regarding candidates for beatification and canonization. phentermine These decrees are generally approved by the Pope at a consistory shortly before Christmas. (A consistory is a meeting of the cardinals who are present in Rome at the time.) Thus the December 19 date is likely.

In November, several informed sources at the Vatican disclosed that the Congregation for the Causes of Saints had voted to approve a finding of “heroic virtue” in the cause of John Paul II, and would prepare a decree to that effect for the Pope’s approval.
