Congratulations to the LSU Open team and the Texas A&M Women's team for winning our first annual Houston Hodown. Both teams battled it out in close games against Texas-Arlington and Rice, respectively.

In the Open Division, LSU dominated Pool A with a mere 11 players, with Texas-Arlington coming in second seed. In Pool B, Rice took the first seed, losing only to Texas Tech on Sunday. A 3-way tie in Pool B gave Tech the second seed by a single point, with Sam Houston and Texas-Tyler close behind. Championship bracket play saw the top 4 teams holding seed to semis, with Texas-Arlington upsetting Rice for a rematch in the finals against LSU. Finals was close with both teams holding serve for most of the game. LSU pulled away at the end, 13-10, despite a small roster and worsening weather conditions. In the Chumpionship bracket, Houston took away the honors of Chumps at home, beating out the bottom teams. Also, mad props to Baylor for not showing up.

In the Women's Division, A&M went undefeated in round robin play, beating out Rice in a close one point game. Rice swept the rest of the teams, by a minimum of 4 points each game. The women's finals was a rematch of the top two seeds, and in an exciting game, A&M came back from a 7-1 deficit to take Rice 13-11.
